Fixing what he said and updates

Hey People. It's me Addy. Sorry that i haven't wrote in a while. Anyways when my dad was talking about the puppies and he thought that the picture that was next to the text was of me having yellow on my tummy. That's actually purple on my tummy. Oh yeah and that I'm finished writing a song I might have it recorded on to a CD and then we'll show it to some company to see if they like it. Isn't that cool?? I know! See yah until next time!

Izzy Grace - Which One Is She?

We have been looking at Dawn G.'s 8 puppies born from her Golden Retriever, Callie. Two years ago, we got Riley, one of Callie's first litter. You saw pictures of her in an earlier post. One of these adorable puppies will be our Izzy Grace. Which one? We're not sure yet. Dawn has loosely tied different color yarn around their necks in order to help identify them. The girls are pink, red, yellow and orange. So far, Karen and I like Red - she's inquisitive and a natural poseur. Pink is very laid back but was startled by a loud noise. Addy has fallen in love with Yellow and one of the boys, Purple. All the pics you're seeing here are of the pups at about 3 1/2 weeks.
Here's Purple laying on Addy's tummy. In the previous photo, I think she's playing w/ Yellow.
Here are a couple pictures of Red - one in pose mode and one in exhaustion mode. Notice that she's sleeping anywhere she can.
We're not sure which one will be best for us - will Red be too inquisitive? Is Pink laid back but not too skittish for our family? What about Yellow? Purple? A boy dog?
We'll bring Riley to see the pups when we get home from New York on the 4th of July weekend, and we'll see which one she bonds with. I guess she'll really decide which one is Izzy Grace.

We're at Niagara Falls!

Initially, I said we were "in" Niagara Falls but that would be in incorrect. We actually hadn't ridden over the falls in a barrel like an old school teacher in the 1800s, nor had we survived like an eight year old who went over the falls in 1960 wearing only his life-preserver and his bathing suit.

We rode on a famous boat ride called The Maid of the Mist, and I expected a huge long line and a long wait, but it wasn't too bad. They provided the rain coats - very thin - but they're only used to keep you dry, not warm. And then the boat took us by the rocky falls first and then the big falls. We got less than a hundred yards away from the falls and we got soaked - both upper and lower decks. All of these pictures were taken by Addy's mom, my wife, Karen, except for the one in which Karen and Addy are visible. I didn't manage to screw that one up.

This picture of the falls that Karen took is about as close as we got. I estimated 100 yards, but it was hard to see in the mist. Plus my glasses kept getting wet too, so I had to take those off and trying to look again.

It was a beautiful day and we all had fun, even on the uneventful jaunt down a steep, unmarked dirt path when we took a wrong turn getting to the parking lot.

Summer has begun!

Finally, the girls are out of school, and our summer can finally begin. Between camping trips to New York and other soon-to-be-named places, we'll be attending soccer camp, going to teacher workshops (U.P. and Minneapolis), we're going to have the basement redone due to the recent power outage (I refuse to call it a blackout b/c there's only 1 blackout, and that was the one in August 2003 that blacked out the whole Northeast). Our backup system failed and so now while Addy and Karen are gone at their respective camps, I'm going to be boxing up books abd throwing even more stuff away.
And, one of the best things that happens in the next few weeks is that we'll be picking out our next new puppy - Izzy Grace. But that deserves its own new entry with pictures and writing too.

Pictures of Riley

Here are some pics of Riley when she was a pup.
